If you are looking for an advance router device with simple functions then, Google Wi-Fi is will definitely serve the purpose. Recently Google Wi-Fi has launched its new router by the name of Nest WI-Fi. It has an advanced feature such as traffic prioritization, simple family and parental controls, relatively fuss-free setup etc. Apart from that, the Wi-Fi looks great by its appearance, you can place it anywhere in your home and it will enhance the beauty of the space.
This device is said to be launched in the US, UK and Australia, they are priced to be $149 in the US, £129 in UK and AU $229 in Australia for a single router unit. A single device can offer internet connection to around 100 devices in the proximity area of 2.200 square feet which is equivalent to 204 square meters. Along with this, Google has made in-built speakers and mutable microphones in the device. The speakers offer audio in 360 degrees.
If you purchase a pack of three devices then, you can cover up to 5,400 square feet area that would be 502 square meters. Unfortunately, this pack of three is only available in the UK and Australia but on the on-side, it offers Google Assistant with the pointing device.
As you know this device has been launched in several colors such as beige and light blue along with the white regrettably Google seems to offer the beige color named ‘Sand’ and light blue color named ‘Mist’ in the US only. You will not find these color options in the Google stores as well as online availability in another country except the US.
Enough about its looks lets shift to its performance:
Firstly, the performance test conducted by our experts is on the internet speed of 100Mbps. Thus, the information provided further is on that basis. Secondly, the test is conducted using a router and a pointing device.
Well, the performance was quite well we would say more than normal. Let’s give it a look. According to the speed test conducted on a radio frequency of 5GHz, the downloading speed reflected to be 100.68 and uploading to be 119.56. Using 2.4 GHz the downloading speed was 34.72 and uploading was 44.87
For streaming download 1.5 GB AT 5GHz the peak speed is 12.5 MB/s. and for 2.4GHz, 7.1 MB/s. There is not much a difference in speed in Google’s original Wi-Fi and Nest Wi-Fi in 5GHz but wasn’t good enough in 2.4 GHz. All in all, we can assure you that this device will not disappoint you from any aspect. Indeed the device doesn’t let the user make the optimum use of 100MBps speed but it’s not giving a bad connectivity range. There are other routers in the market that let you use 100MBps speed but they don’t offer you the area coverage or their price range is very high. For more information go to Google Onhub Setup.
